We Welcome you to the Lakeview Veterans’ Day Parade, a community event that began in 2015 to honor our heroes. In just four years, the parade has grown to become a must attend event as veterans from the Second World War to Afghanistan and Iraq march proudly through the heart of Lakeview, one of the most resilient neighborhoods of New Orleans.
All those who have worn or continue to wear the uniform of our Armed Forces we welcome to march or ride. We also welcome Boy and Girl Scouts of all ages to walk alongside our veterans. Civic groups and those who wish to honor our heroes are welcome as well.
Whether you wish to march or just enjoy a good fall day among the company of appreciative citizens, please come out and support us and remember the gifts of freedom for which our veterans have sacrificed so much to protect.
Despite the threat of inclement weather, appreciative citizens lined Harrison Avenue and saluted our veterans as they and a host of Scouts, re-enactors, and even the Victory Belles from the National World War II Museum marched down the street. The next year saw glorious weather and double the number of people.
